If I have anything negative to say, it's that there isn't a whole lot of replayability without buying additional content.
The app does a very good job of telling a great story, and the scenarios (at least the ones I've played) have felt different enough to not get boring. Mansions of Madness - A very good Arkham Files game, which I'd rank just behind the LCG. I wouldn't mind getting this back to the table again, but I'm currently running Gloomhaven with a buddy and that will scratch our dungeon-crawler itch for quite some time.

I've only played it a couple of times with the base game and the Road to Legend app (to make it full co-op), and it worked well. I much prefer Arkham's way of just using one deck with small tweaks running through multiple scenarios.ĭescent - This is a pretty light dungeon crawler.
Then, you'll rinse/repeat for the next one. Essentially, you're going to lose your first run of a scenario, then realize how it plays, and then build a completely new deck to beat it on a subsequent run. The scenarios are very dependent on building a certain deck. Ultimately, I realized there are parts of the game that really turn me off. I was invested in this game for quite some time and I think I've got two full cycles worth of content. Lord of the Rings: LCG - This is the precursor to Arkham, which means I should love it. Also, the deckbuilding was still very light and I probably added/changed less than ten cards to my deck over the course of the campaign. This was just "go to the location, draw a card, roll for a test" over and over. Contrast that with Arkham, where every scenario in a campaign can play very differently and give a completely different feel. However, everything in it just felt so samey. Granted, I've only played the first campaign, so things may have changed. The deckbuilding is extremely light in this one, so don't get it for that aspect. There are just too many moving pieces in the game and they don't all really fit together in a way that makes sense to me. Mage Knight - I've played this a handful of times, and I just find it to be too clunky. It definitely didn't suck me into the Marvel universe as much as it could have. Playing multiple Wolverine cards in a single turn, for example, seems a little weird, even though they are different moves or powers. I don't find it extremely difficult, and I find that the theme isn't extremely strong. It plays similar to Ascension (in my opinion). Legendary: Marvel - Pretty light deckbuilder. You can also ask in the regular Board Gaming OT as well. Ive never had anyone take me up on that so, apparently people dont want to learn that bad.I've played all of these, but don't have a lot of plays on some of them.

I know how to turn a computer on and use Word, and surf the web. When people try to teach me they assume I know what an OCTGN string is. I just dont know what to do, or how to do it. I would like to add that if you are using the OCTGN software for free and using the images for free, a little effort on your part is a warranted cost to play. Having said that, I agree that it would be nice to have ready-made image packs, especially for busy adults. Others have offered to explain how to add images if you dont subscribe. If you use these images for other purposes, such as website articles, please credit the source.) If you subscribe to OCTGN, you can put each image into OCTGN by viewing its card in the deckbuilder and dragging the image from your browser to the deckbuilders card image area. When you get to 06, change back to 01 and increase the addresss first number. To go to the next image, change the addresss 01 to 02, then 03, and so on. The last time I updated my OCTGN set files, I used the card images from, which stores its images using their objective set number and number within that set. If they actually labelled them the same as they are in OCTGN it would be dead easy, but really when you just save them to your hard drive you just need to rename them with the OCTN string. I blame my lower middle class upbringing, my household didnt even own a computer until 2001. I am not saving and drag n dropping a hundred images manually, no matter how easy.
